  1. Oh, come on...the low point of music was not 1981 to 1984! And "Mexican Radio" by Wall of Voodoo is a good song!

The worst song ever is "Ring my Bell" (1979) which is about snorting cocaine, and only has one line, "Ring my bell...ell...ell, ring my bell" in it. Over and over again. Then again, something by Yoko Ono is probably the worst song ever, but I have never heard it. I also give dishonorable mention to "Funkytown." "Let me take you to Funkly-town!!!!!!" Over and over again. Oh, how about "Afternoon Delight" as the worst song ever? "Muskrat Love" anyone? But not if it helped you to succeed in nailing Toni Tenille in the Muskrat position.

The low point pf music was 1976 to whenever "My Sharona" came out. As evidence, below are the top ten songs of those years. Notice how every song either has to have the word "boogie" in the title or in the lyrics. Keep in mind, these are the BEST song from those years. I could have sworn that "Y.M.C.A." was more like 1977. Do a more extensive search of 1976 to 1979 and I'm sure you'll find a lot of cheesy musical road kill. Thank god Ronald Reagan banned disco when he came into office.

  2. I stand corrected. All these songs are much worse than any Wall of Voodoo song. It seems then that the "Dark Ages of Music" were 1975-78.
